Program of attention for foreign patients


At Gris Reproducción-CIRH Lab we have developed a specific gamete donation programme (eggs and sperm) in order to provide treatment for foreign couples or women who wish to avail of this service.
The special programme for foreign patients includes the optional availability to arrange their stay and transportation while in the city. Patients will receive advice and guidelines from a team of specialists who will be in contact with you throughout the entire duration of your stay, and whose aim is to assure the maximum agility, simplicity and congeniality throughout the treatment process.
During your stay in our city, visitors are covered by travel insurance..

When a patient contacts Gris Reproducción CIRH-Lab:

They receive the following information by e-mail:
     1 . Information about the procedure
     2 . Price estimate for treatment
     3 . Price estimate for trip, accommodation (optional)
     4 . Price estimate for travel insurance, stay and medical care (mandatory)
     5 . Informed consent (mandatory legal document)
     6 . E-mail address and telephone contact details for patient service centre in Barcelona

The couple or patient is required to send the following information to the Centre:
     1 . Brief medical history
     2 . Tests and analysis to date: hormonal analysis, hysterosalpingography (HSG), semen analysis, etc.
     3 . Blood tests from both members of couple (Antibodies for Hepatitis B and C, HIV, and Syphilis). Blood test results must be no older than six months prior to treatment date.
     4 . Blood Group and Rhesus blood group system of both partners in the couple
     5 . Photograph and physical characteristics of couple

Appointment for 1st visit (optional travel and accommodation itinerary available by contacting patient service centre)

1st visit:
     1 . Signed informed consents
     2 . Explanation of procedures and medical treatment
     3 . Confirmation regarding results of additional tests and analysis
     4 . Payment of 50% of procedure (100% of donor’s medication)
     5 . Prescriptions are issued and terms of treatment explained
     6 . An ultrasound scan is performed

AID TREATMENT PROTOCOLS and OVODONATION CYCLES

Artificial Insemination by donor (AID)

Tests and analysis:
     1 . Ultrasound scan performed at Gris Reproducción CIRH-Lab or with patient’s own gynaecologist (city of origin)
     2 . Specify dates for tests and analysis as well as dates for test results
     3 . If tests are performed in city of origin, patients will be given 36 to 48 hours notice in order to arrange travel plans to Barcelona to perform insemination. (Optional stay and accommodation programmed)

On the day insemination is to take place:
     1 . Ultrasound scan if tests have been performed in city of origin
     2 . Specify instructions and exact time for insemination to be performed
     3 . Inform patient of post-insemination treatment to be followed
     4 . Transport to assigned hotel (optional)
     5 . Programme pregnancy test date (β-HCG)
     6 . Follow-up by e-mail

Oocyte donation program:
In the event that the patient performs tests with their own gynaecologist in city of origin:
     1 . Inhibition will begin using GnRH-a, which should begin at the end of the previous cycle, or contraceptive treatment (the pill) in the event the patient does not have periods
     2 . Testing of hypophysary inhibition (Ultrasound scan + determination of E2)
     3 . Confirm terms of ovarian stimulation treatment
     4 . Specify dates for check-ups
     5 . In the event the patient performs tests with their own gynaecologist in city of origin, they will be notified to arrange the precise date and time of check-up prior to egg retrieval from the donor. (Stay and accommodation organized, optional)
     6 . Ultrasound scan in Barcelona, prior to egg retrieval from the donor (minimum 12 hours before)
     7 . Arrange time for collection of semen sample on the day of egg retrieval from the donor
     8 . Provide patient with instructions for day of embryo transfer (medication, vesical preparation, rest, etc.)

On the day of egg retrieval from the donor:
     1 . Remind patient of medication and dose to be taken
     2 . Collect fresh semen sample
     3 . Inform patient about embryo transfer procedure

On the day of embryo transfer:
     1 . Remind patient of medication and dose to be taken
     2 . Arrange date for performing pregnancy test (β-HCG)
     3 . Inform patient of possible symptoms
     4 . Arrange contact method and details (Telephone,e-mail,..)
     5 . Transfer to hotel (optional)
